What is Spring Conference?
Each spring, the Model Legislature & Court program gives delegates an additional opportunity to flex their political muscles. Conference participants learn leadership skills, practice their speech and debate skills, and run for office in a fun and relaxed environment.
Spring Conference is held at Corcoran High School in California’s Central Valley.
What Happens at Spring Conference?
This two-day event is a condensed version of the six-month MLC and is a great introduction to two of the program’s major components: the Legislative Houses and the National Issues Commission. Attendees can run for Lieutenant Governor, the Speaker of the Assembly and NIC Presiding Commissioner. Delegates can also apply to be a Committee Chair, Commission Chair or Chaplain.
Whether delegates participate to develop and practice their skills, learn more about the program, or look forward to the traditional camping format, everyone leaves with new friends and a greater understanding of how our government works.
When and where is Spring Conference?
