Y&G Celebrates Its 17th Model United Nations Program Year
California YMCA Youth & Government recently concluded its 17th Model United Nations program year. Over 800 middle school youth put months of preparation to the test as they represented nearly 200 different countries while debating pre-set topics against their peers. Delegates took on roles of United Nations representatives, Committee Chairs and Presiding Officers as they simulated the proceedings of the actual United Nations.
During this exciting weekend, Saraphina Perry of the Torrance-South Bay delegation was elected to serve as the 18th Secretary-General. Upon her election to the position, she appointed Rachel Leftwich of the East Valley Family YMCA delegation as Deputy Secretary-General and Jack Moreland of the Culver-Palms delegation as Chef de Cabinet. Congratulations to our 18th MUN elected leadership!
Overall, we are so amazed and inspired by what our delegates created during the 17th Model United Nations. Thank you to the delegations who participated in the final conference of our program year. To view more photos from the official 17th Model United Nations Summit, click here.
