Delegation Web Sites:

The California YMCA Youth & Government Program encourages each delegation to create their own web site. Check with your local YMCA to see if they already have a site that you can add Y&G content to. If this option is not available to you, there are a number of other free tools available.

Due to a number of issues, calymca.org will no longer offer free space for individual delegation sites. We are working with a limited amount of space as we continue to add more program content, such as all forms and bulletins, the Advisor Manual and Print Media publications. But we are happy to offer links from our site to yours simply by following these steps:

  1. Find a web host. There are a number of free hosts available. Some of the more popular ones include Tripod, Geocities, or Angelfire. Each of these free sites come with limitations. Read the fine print. If you are looking to create more with your site, including add free pages, you may want to consider one of the many cheaper hosting sites. You can take it to the extreem by purchasing your own domain (like www.calymca.og), in addition to your hosting service, but this is an expensive route and is not necessary.

  2. Create your page. Some hosting plans include software or templates to assist you in creating your pages. You may also create HTML pages with programs as simple as Micosoft Word, or go the brave route and create raw html files using nothing more than a text editor. There are numerous tools available. Simply begin searching the internet for free html editors, if you do not already have a program available.

  3. Let us know when you are ready. When you are ready to "go public" with your site, send an email to webmaster@calymca.org, and we will add a link from the appropriate section of this website.

  4. Follow the rules. We will not post any links to your site, or allow consideration for delegation web site under the Premier Delgation criteria without some basic guidelines followed. For this reason, we have implemented a series of rules. Read them, understand them, and follow them.

  5. Get Help. The Online Community section of the website can offer great help for web page design questions. Sign up for an account (it's free of course), and we'll be happy to answer all your questions.
