Current Support Campaign kick-off lunch.

The California YMCA Youth and Government program conducts an Annual Support Campaign to raise funds to help support its programs. Governing Board Member Cathy Saliba has provided expert leadership to this effort for the last eleven years. Last year over $200,000 was pledged during this campaign.

Cathy and her team of eager campaigners kick off the year during the fall Governing Board Meeting. All Governing Board Members contribute and serve as campaign workers. Last year 160 campaigners solicited funds on our behalf. Whether it is $25 or $5,000, each gift is recognized and appreciated.

The Campaign Steering Committee, Lanny Couvillon, Katherine Yoshii, John Lindner, Rick Wintrob, Betty Ann Downing, Youth Governor Kyle Smith, Linda Cooper, and Cathy Saliba plan the campaign each year, selecting a theme, a goal, and setting the timeline.

In addition to the Support Campaign, California Youth and Government has been extremely fortunate to have received the support of the Governor George Deukmejian Endowment Fund. Gov. Deukmejian established the fund for the sole purpose of providing scholarships to deserving Youth and Government delegates, and has helped to solicit donations over the years.
