There is no other program that offers the growth opportunities of Y&G. The change I see at the end of each year is phenomenal and inspiring.

- Christy (Delegation Advisor)

Being a Y & G advisor has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my YMCA career.  It is such an amazing program and brings so many people together that it’s unlike anything else.  Watching the kids change as they go through this program is worth all the long nights and sick kids.  The bond that grows between me and my delegation will be life long.  I just love doing Y &G!

- Tiffany (Delegation Advisor)

To me it means that I am part of something special.  There are no other programs like this out there, where kids can feel welcome and that their opinions matter.

- Aimee (Delegation Advisor)

It means the world to me to be a Y&G staff volunteer. It is an opportunity to use my skills and talents for the benefit of others, to help them grow, develop and most importantly, to find their voice.

- Marty (Volunteer Staff)

What brings be back is the opportunity to serve. I feel as if it is my duty to give support and guidance to the delegates and advisors. Early in my Y&G career, I wanted to continue to encourage people of color to get involved in the program. I was able to see first hand, the impact the program made of kids from the inner-city. Every time I interact with a delegate or an advisor that interaction is an opportunity to make a difference.

- Hudson (Volunteer Staff)

Y&G, for me, has always filled me with hope and faith: faith in the selflessness of my peers because there is a community of adults committed to serving others, and hope that, as mentors, we may inspire positive change in others and foster genuine leadership through our integrity and our example

- Stacy (Volunteer Staff)

Y&G truly satisfies that gap of 'Making a difference'.  I can volunteer anywhere, but I chose Y&G and Y&G chooses me.

- Mario (Volunteer Staff)

I love seeing the shy kid the very first meeting who won't speak to anyone let alone speak in front of everyone.  Then by the end of SAC, he/she comes up to me and tells me how they finally spoke on something that truly meant something to him/her.  I love it when I see these kids become empowered and come into their own identity!

- Aaron (Volunteer Staff)

I come back each year for two reasons. First, because I want to give back to the program that gave so much to me when I was a delegate. Second, because it teaches most of the teens valuable things like, knowledge of how the government
